If there is a way to ‘happily’ feel that the journey is completed it escapes me.\u00a0 Maybe the sunset at Fisterra is the ‘end’ but not the completion.\u00a0 The walk to Muxia added a few more easy days to unwind while walking through the pastoral and floral countryside enjoying the hospitality and kindness of the Spanish people.\u00a0 I guess my time on this Camino was just part of life, although certainly completely different from the day to day activities and experiences of home.<\/p>\n

Muxia really is a pretty little village with a mix of old and new.\u00a0 It sort of looks opportunistically thrown together, but walk around on the back streets and there are images and architecture from the past.\u00a0\u00a0 It is located on the small peninsula with the center of the town facing the picturesque small harbor.<\/p>\n

We stayed at a new aubergue in Muxia in an ensuite room. The aubergue was almost full but was large enough so we didn’t feel crowded. We had a most enjoyable, but light dinner with excellent Pulpa and the local wine.\u00a0 We slept in as best we could in the morning.\u00a0 I was up first and stepped out and picked up some croissants and coffee (and a piece of cake) for us both.<\/p>\n

We walked back out to La Barca again, then meandered back to town and did some shopping for items to give to people when we returned home. At 1 we had lunch in the dining room of the auberge with food purchased from the local market. We saw and talked to a few of the people we had talked to over the last few weeks. We were on the bus back to Santiago at 2:30.<\/p>\n

The ride back was quiet with little conversation. I guess we both were in our own thoughts.<\/p>\n

Back in Santiago we checked back into our flat for the night.\u00a0 With laundry, and some shopping for food for the train the next day we didn’t really settle in until about 6. We headed back to the Cathedral to see the Botifumerio again.\u00a0 After mass ended, we exited the Cathedral and walked into a concert that was just starting played by the local orchestra. It was really nice.\u00a0 Some classical, some light jazz and also some popular music as the afternoon faded into evening (it was about 8:40pm).<\/p>\n

The next morning we were packed and on our way to Madrid. There was a lot to see in Madrid and it was time to be a tourist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
